PTI to boycott the National Assembly on the treatment of legislators

President of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), lawyer Gohar, said on Monday that the party would boycott the sessions of the National Assembly to protest what she called the unfair treatment of her legislators.

“From now on, we will not attend the sessions of the National Assembly. We will protest and boycott instead,” said Gohar speaking with journalists alongside other members of the PTI. In Islamabad.

He added that the PTI parliamentary party met at the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) house, heard the instructions of the party founder and approved them.

He accused the authorities of undressing the legislators of the PTI of their seats, of disqualifying them and of silencing their voices. “Even if we try to celebrate independence day, we are not allowed. Despite countless difficulties, we have witnessed the sessions to increase democratically demands, but we are not allowed to speak,” he said.

Former President Asad Qaiser urged the federal government to support the victims of the floods. “The KP government is working for people affected by floods. We will also please our party founder to launch a fundraising call. We use the United Nations to provide help. It is also the duty of the federal government, “he said.

The chief minister of KP, Ali Amin Gandapur, reported serious devastation of the heavy rains, in particular in Buner, Shangla, Swabi and Swat. “A wave of flooding from 12 to 14 feet destroyed houses. He said that compensation was under distribution, with 2 million rupees granted to families in the deceased, 1 million rupees for completely destroyed houses and partial payments to the injured. “This is only support-you cannot rebuild a house with 1 million rupees. But never in history, a rescue work has been done at such a speed,” he added.
