The Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP) disqualified Senator Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhary, a member of the National Assembly (MNA) Mohammad Ahmed Chattha, and member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA) Ahmad Khan Bhachar on Monday, following their conviction by anti-terrorism (ATC).
The ECP disqualified the three legislators of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) under article 63, paragraph 1, of the Constitution, according to two notifications issued here. After disqualification, the ECP declared three vacant seats, which would be filled through by -elections.

“Consequently, Mohammad Ahmed Chattha, MNA of NA-66 Wazirabad and Ahmad Khan, MPA, Provincial Assembly of Punjab of PP-87 Mianwali-LLL have become under article 63 (1xh) of the Constitution of the Punjabic Republic of Lslamic.
“Consequently, the notification n ° F.2 (5) / 2024-Cord (1) of February 16, 2024 to the measure of Mohammad Ahmed Chattha and the notification n ° F.2 (6) / 2024-Cord dated February 17, 2024 to the extent of Ahmad Khan as returned candidates, are recalled here.”
The ATC in Sargodha had condemned and condemned Chattha, MNA of NA-66 Wazirabad and Bhachar-PP-87 Mianwali-LLL and the opposition chief in the Punjab assembly-at 10 years for violence on May 9, 2023.
Similarly, the ATC -LLL, Lahore, had condemned Senator Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhary and had given him a sentence of 10 years in prison in a case arising from the violence of May 9 – the attacks against the military installation by the supporters of the PTI following the arrest of the founder of the Imran Khan party in a case of corruption.
Consequently, several PTI managers and workers have been arrested and tried in various courts. In December, a military court sentenced 25 people, including the nephew of Imran Khan, Hassan Khan Niazi, then sentenced 60 others.
Last week, the two ATCs found dozens of PTI managers and workers – including Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mahmood Rasheed, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Ejaz Chaudhary and Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar – guilty of bypassing and contouring the riots on May 9, 2023 and condemned them to various prisons.
PTI vice-president Shah Mahmood Qureshi, however, was among the rare, who were acquitted accusations in one of the cases recorded in Lahore. The verdicts were before the completion of the deadline of August fixed by the Supreme Court for finishing the affairs of May 9.
Sargodha ATC sentenced 32 people, including 10 years in prison in Bhachar and Chattha. Mianwali police had registered the case against the legislators, workers and supporters of the PTI for having created anarchy, resorting to a criminal fire and encourage people to vandalism.
Lahore ATC sentenced Eight PTI leaders to 10 years in prison for having created anarchy and collected in a criminal fire at the Lahore Sherpao bridge. The ATC judge, however, acquitted six PTI managers and workers, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, in the same case.
