Federal Minister of Defense, Khawaja Asif, has issued a severe warning indicating that the government will not allow Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) to “disrupt the nation again” by repeating incidents like May 9 or the May 26.
Asif criticized the PTI for its “constant policy of protest and chaos, especially when the honor of Pakistan is at stake,” said Express News.
During a press conference held in Sialkot, AIF underlined the next international event, the Champions Trophy, and condemned PTI for trying to create unrest for important moments for the country.
He pointed out that PTI disruptive tactics not only “tarnish the world image of Pakistan but also undermine national interests”.
“While the country is preparing for major events, such as the Champions Trophy, PTI has once again used protest policy. Party’s actions continue to harm the country’s position on the international scene, “said Asif.
He also accused PTI of having tried to create disorders during crucial moments, referring to the actions of the opposition party at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Conference (SCO).
Asif also condemned PTI use of government machines and resources for political rallies, especially in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that even if the rallies are part of the political discourse, the constant efforts of PTI to disrupt the peace and stability of the nation, including the targeting of Islamabad, should be arrested.
Regarding current demonstrations, AIF questioned PTI’s claims, claiming that if most of their requests had been satisfied, there was no justification for the demonstrations. He reiterated the need for a peaceful and stable environment for the benefit of the interests of Pakistan.
