ISLAMABAD:
The apex court has imposed significant sanctions on four officers of its bureaucracy following disciplinary proceedings conducted under the Supreme Court Establishment Service Rules, 2015.
According to an official statement issued on Saturday, three of the officers belong to the Supreme Court registry in Karachi.
Officers were penalized for serious administrative errors, including late reporting, failure to request written instructions in a timely manner, and delays in reconstructing court records from available digital copies – issues that raised institutional concerns.
In a separate case reported via the anti-corruption hotline, the SC took disciplinary action against an officer of the Supreme Court registry in Lahore over issues related to transparency.
“Institutional discipline, integrity and strict adherence to procedural rules remain non-negotiable, particularly in matters relating to official conduct and the administration of justice,” he added.
Meanwhile, the top court also reclassified a total of 218 officers and civil servants into several higher pay scale categories in recognition of their dedication and professional commitment.
Beneficiaries include lower and upper division clerks, assistants, paper book editors, data entry operators, telephone operators, court assistants and deputy clerks.
It also promoted 57 staff members “in strict accordance with the prescribed rules, procedures and merits” on the recommendation of the Departmental Promotion Committee.
