The Punjab government has launched a major repression of bird activity near Lahore airport to improve aviation safety, declaring several “bird zones” districts in a new initiative.
Head Minister Maryam Nawaz published the Directive to the City District Administration at Punjab Wildlife Department and the Environmental Protection Agency for coordinated action.
Localities such as Oriental Pontage, Manawan, Dahori Wala Hospital, PKLI, Chungi Amar Sidhu, Ichhra and Chah Miran were placed under strict surveillance.
Officials said these areas have been an aerial anchored to create a protective airspace for commercial flights.
Bird strikes, especially during takeoff and landing, pose a persistent security risk. The new policy aims to mitigate this by reducing the presence of birds around low -altitude flight journeys.

The main provincial minister Maryam Aurangzeb was appointed to supervise the mobilization of the first wild force dedicated to Punjab.
The fauna department has already ordered its field guards to enforce new restrictions.
Strict regulations are imposed on nearby slaughterhouses, poultry farms, bakeries and leather processing units. These companies must now comply with environmental controls, including the ban on open elimination of animal waste and skins.
In addition, the food of birds in public spaces, on roofs and in sanctuaries has been prohibited. Residents are also limited to keeping or driving a large number of pigeons.
The garbage spill near the airport has been prohibited and covered waste bins are now compulsory in specific areas. Officials have warned that any activity attracting birds in these areas will be treated as a violation of public security.

A legal action will be taken under the Punjab Wildlife Act, with surveillance teams responsible for ensuring full compliance.
The authorities claim that the move is aligned with international air security standards and reflects a long -term commitment in the heaven safer of the city.
