Punjab is witnessing a significant change in weather conditions with the winter season shortening and temperatures rising earlier than usual.
According to the meteorological department, dry weather persists in the province, reducing the severity of the cold and bringing an early glimpse of spring, especially in Lahore, Express News reported.
In the provincial capital, the minimum temperature recorded was 7°C, while the maximum temperature was expected to reach 24°C.
The current dry spell is expected to continue over the next two to three days, with no rain forecast during this time.
Meteorologists observed that this year’s winter season was notably brief, indicating a possible change in seasonal patterns.
Moreover, Karachi is witnessing a notable drop in temperature after the arrival of cold winds from Balochistan.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the cold spell will persist over the next few days, with the temperature potentially dropping into single digits, Express News reported.
On Thursday morning, Karachi’s minimum temperature was recorded at 10.9°C, marking a decrease of 3.6°C from the previous day.
The city is under the influence of a western weather system, causing icy winds across the region.
