Punjab launches boats while flood waters overwhelm the villages

The Punjab government has launched “boats clinics” to provide medical care in areas affected by floods, because large southern punjab stretches remain flooded after serious floods in the Sutlej, Ravi and Chenab rivers.

According to the provincial health service, 968 mobile clinics and medical rescue camps were created. The chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, told the authorities to ensure the best possible treatment for affected families, emphasizing women and children.

Free medical camps, vaccination training for newborns, nutritional screening for malnutrition children and ambulance services for pregnant women have been introduced into rescue camps.

Water levels continue to increase through the main rivers. At the head Muhammad Wala in Multan, more than 500,000 brackets are passing, losing pressure on the flooding of Akbar.

The army, the district administration and the rescue services remain on alert, while traffic on the roads of Muhammad Wala and Shershah has been suspended.
