Punjab records the highest number of deaths in the molot incidents, confirms the NDMA

Despite official preparation allegations, Punjab has become the hardest affected province of this year’s monsoon season, recording the largest number of deaths and injuries in the rain -related incidents, according to a new report published by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

Since the start of the monsoon season, a total of 266 people have died and 628 have been injured nationally. The deceased includes 94 men, 46 women and 126 children. The latest report published Thursday, said that eight people had died and that six were injured across the country in the past 24 hours only due to bad weather incidents.

Among the latest victims, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) reported three deaths and five injuries, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) each recorded two deaths, while death occurred in the Sindh.

Punjab has undergone the largest damage, with 144 deaths and 488 injuries. KP followed with 63 deaths and 79 injuries. The Sindh recorded 25 deaths and 40 injuries, while Balutchistan reported 16 deaths and four injuries. Islamabad saw eight dead, GB Seven, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

In addition to human losses, the damage caused by property and livestock have also been significant. In the past 24 hours, 84 houses have been damaged and 38 cattle have perished. Since the start of the monsoon, 1,089 houses have been damaged or demolished, and 366 animals have died in flood waters.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department warned of sudden potential floods in local watercourses and draws in Dera Ghazi Khan and the possibility of urban floods in the low areas of the northeast and eastern Punjab. The warning is in force for Thursday evening and night.

A seasonal base is located in northeast Balutchistan, with wet currents from the Oman Sea penetrating the upper parts of the country. A West wave also affects these regions.

The rain, the wind and the thunderstorms are expected in isolated places in cashmere, KP, upper and central punjab, GB and northeast of Baloutchan. Isolated heavy showers are probably in the upper KP, the central punjab and the northeast of Balutchistan. Hot and humid conditions will persist elsewhere.

Friday, hot and humid times will prevail in most regions. However, isolated rains, wind and thunderstorms are expected in GB, superior KP, northeast of Punjab and cashmere.

Significant precipitation in the last 24 hours have been recorded in several parts of the Punjab, with Sargodha and Sheikhupura receiving 69 mm, Noor Pure Thal and Hafizabad 59 mm and Mandi Bahauddin 51 mm. Lahore also experienced variable precipitation intensities, ranging from 2 mm to Mughalpura to 43 mm in the city of Iqbal.

In Balutchistan, Barkhan recorded 29 mm of rain. In KP, Cherat saw 9 mm, while Gilgit in GB also recorded 9 mm. The highest maximum temperatures recorded Thursday were 44 ° C to Nokundi, 43 ° C to Dadu and 41 ° C in Sibbi, Rohri and Panjgur.
