Officials say regular and international learning licenses were issued through centers and online portal
Under the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister, driving license services continue across the province, setting a new record. According to a spokesperson, over the past 18 days, more than 2 million driving licenses have been issued. “No other province in Pakistan has issued so many licenses to date,” the spokesperson added, pointing out that Punjab is the only province to provide record licensing facilities to all citizens.
Breaking down the numbers, more than 940,000 citizens have obtained a learner’s license, while more than 360,000 citizens have acquired a new regular driving license. In addition, more than 700,000 citizens renewed their learning, regular and international licenses, and more than 2,000 citizens obtained an international driving license. More than 7,000 citizens have managed to reissue lost licenses.

The “at home” online licensing portal was also widely used, with 1.14 million citizens benefiting from it.
DIG Traffic Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazir, warned, “Driving without a license is a crime,” while adding that unlicensed drivers face heavy fines and strict legal action. He further said that the trained drivers have contributed to a significant reduction in road accidents in Punjab.
“Traffic police are raising awareness among the public about the importance of driving license,” said DIG Traffic Nazir, urging citizens to understand their value. Citizens are encouraged to use the service centers, license centers and online portal to obtain or renew licenses. He also advised citizens to “immediately download your electronic driving license to your mobile device after it is issued,” noting that the electronic driving license has the same legal validity as the physical card.
