- Claude on macOS can now control parts of your Mac if the integrations aren’t enough
- Dispatch on your phone can even send commands to the macOS app
- Claude Pro and Max subscribers benefit from first access
Anthropic has announced a major update to Claude, which can now use your computer directly by taking control of mouse and keyboard inputs to manage applications like the browser.
The company explained that the feature, which works within Claude Cowork and Claude Code, first tries to use third-party integrations with apps like Slack and Google Calendar, but if all else fails, it can go even further and use your computer.
Anthropic’s announcement specifically details how the feature will work from Dispatch – a task assignment app for Claude accessible on your phone – which essentially means you can control parts of your computer from the phone in your pocket.

“We built this feature with safeguards that minimize risk, including rapid injection,” Anthropic wrote, noting that Claude will always ask a user for permission before taking actions and that users can stop progress at any time and regain control.
However, being an early-stage product, Anthropic admits that Claude can still make some mistakes and it’s not as fast as using these supported third-party integrations. It is also not recommended to use it with sensitive data, as some applications are restricted by default for this reason.
“With Dispatch, you can ask Claude to automatically check your emails every morning or pull statistics every week, or launch a Claude Cowork or Claude Code session for a report or pull request,” the company wrote, talking about the Dispatch smartphone app.
For the moment, it is limited to macOS for Claude Pro and Max subscribers, but the firm does not rule out a wider deployment after this testing phase.
