Michael Madsen, a star Tank dogsdied last month on July 3 in his home in Malibu. Quentin Tarantino, his frequent collaborator, paid tribute to him.
He understood the organization of a memorial to his Vista theater, as Tmz reported, where he said on stage: “It was the last hour of the last day of the first week of filming. So, I had never made a film before.”
During his speech, the director recalled how difficult it was to work with the late actor. “And Lawrence Tierney was a nightmare *******. He was completely crazy. He was so crazy, and I had never done before, so I faced a crazy man from Monday to Saturday.”
He shared: “All the other actors and the crew cannot bear it. And all of a sudden, he shouts me or something, does something lack of respect. The other times, he was disrespectful, but he did not think it. This time, he thought.”
This behavior prompted Quentin, told, to dismiss Michael, leading the Tank dogs Casting and crew to applaud the decision.
But it was the first 62 -year -old film as a filmmaker, so the end of the Freelance Star made him think that his career was over.
“I just spent a week to shoot this fucking guy, now I just fire him,” he recalls. “Live entertainment will ****** shoot me. That’s it for my career. It was good while it lasted. But I had to do it, I had to defend myself.”
Meanwhile, Michael left Quentin a message, supporting him for his decision to dismiss him.
“” Yeah, Quentin, it’s Michael. I just called to say that I really respected what you did tonight. It was important and had to be done. He broke your balls and you had to do it, “he added.
“And I want you to know that I respect him, as a director, I respect him as a captain, and I respect him as a man. So, I am on your side, my friend. Thank you,” concluded Quentin.
Michael had a rich career extending over four decades. His credits include Kill Bill: Flights. 1 & 2, the eight hatefuls, And Once upon a time … in Hollywood.
