Rafael Devers had a glove on Tuesday when he made his debut in the first goal in the second game of the Giants of San Francisco in a series of three games with the Braves of Atlanta.
Playing the defense was largely a surprise, since Devers was categorical about his desire to exclusively manage the designated shot tasks when he was with his previous team, the Boston Red Sox. But, the comments of Devers after the match were perhaps even more surprising.

Devers said he is actually prefers to play in defense to exclusively collect a bat during MLB games.
“It keeps me active. This prevents the head from thinking about the next in the stick,” said Devers according to San Francisco Chronicle. “I prefer to be on the ground only in the cage, hitting all the time and thinking of the next stick.”

Rafael Devers has followed a tense spring training. During the exhibition period, the manager of the Red Sox, Alex Cora and Devers, seemed to be in disagreement to find out if he would spend time on the baseball diamond covering the third base.
Shortly before the opening day, Cora has confirmed that Devers would take care of the designated teaching tasks of the full -time team. However, when Boston’s first goal player Triston Casas suffered a serious injury, this caused another Brass Red Sox proposal.

During its public refutation of the potential change of position, Devers cited the previous instructions of the Red Sox which are linked to it using its glove.
“I know that I am a ball player, but at the same time, they cannot expect me to play each position,” said devers via a translator, Boston Globe reported in May. “During spring training, they told me about it and essentially told me to put my glove to put away, that I was not going to play another position but DH.”
Devers had two strokes in his first basic beginnings with San Francisco. The Giants finally celebrated a 9-0 victory on the brave victory on Tuesday. The Giants also won Wednesday’s match against Atlanta to win the three -game series.
