The Boston Red Sox seemed to run their season while sweeping New York Yankees over the weekend – then they exchanged their franchise player.
Shortly after the SOX finished the boost of three bombers games, they sent Rafael Devers, who managed a match on the Green Monster on Sunday to the Giants of San Francisco.
The writing was on the wall for some time after the SOX signed the third goal Alex Bregman, and finally, Devers refused to play the first goal. Devers was only a hitter designated all season.

“In the end, I think it is quite clear that we could not find an alignment with Raffy,” said the president and chief executive officer on Monday, Sam Kennedy, via MLB.com. “We have all worked there in recent months, returning to the off -season, starting with [manager] Alex Cora and [chief baseball officer] Fear [Brewslow] and the staff, then to me, and until [owner] John Henry.
“We worked there. We had a different vision for him in the future than him, and we could not get there. We could not find the alignment, and we reached this inflection point and made the decision to take a big step.”
Despite the loss, by far, their best bat, Breslow, a launcher for 13 seasons of MLB, said that this decision did not mean “in any case a sign of the white flag on 2025.”
In fact, Breslow actually thinks that trade will result in a better product in the immediate future. “I think there is a real chance that at the end of the season,” said Breslow, “we are looking back, and we won more games than we would have otherwise.”
For what it is worth, the SOX beaten the Seattle Navy, 2-0, Monday evening in their first match in the post-devers era.

The former Sox-Sox star calls the trade in Rafael Devers of the “crazy” team
Devers was the last man of the 2018 World Series champion SOX still in Boston – but now the remaining $ 250 million on his agreement are now the responsibility of San Francisco. Breslow insisted on the fact that the agreement was not an attempt to reduce the pay – like the offers of Mookie Betts, which won two World Series in Los Angeles, or Chris Sale, who won the NL Cy Young Award in his first season with the Braves.
However, with a lot of money now available – and a team that is in the post -season race, Breslow said that the Front Office will continue to look for means to improve the team, with a midfielder from the line as a new need.
“For any reason, this team (is) an example where everything was not greater than the sum of the parts,” he said. “And being great teammates and sacrifice and intensify each other for each other and embody this shared vision, we believe that these are principles to which we must be faithful.

“And so, at the end of the season, I think we could look back and say that we have won more matches than we would have otherwise, because of the way this list is now able to come together.”
