Rafael Furcal Arrest: Ex-MLB Star faces several crimes

Rafael Furcal, triple Star Champion of the MLB and World Series, was arrested Wednesday in Florida in Florida, according to online arrest records.

Furcal, 47, was accused of aggravated battery with a fatal weapon and throwing fatal missiles in housing, public or private, according to the Broward County Sheriff. The two were second degree crime charges.

The details of the arrest were not immediately available. PK Press Club Digital contacted the Sunrise police service for more details.

A lawyer was not listed for Furcal.

The former internal field player played 14 years in the majors. He made his debut in the major league with the Braves of Atlanta in 2000 and won the prize for the recruit of the year of the National League when he hit 0.295 with 134 strokes and 87 points. He obtained his first appearance in All-Star with the team in 2003.

He joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2006 and played with them until the 2011 season was halfway, when he was exchanged at the Cardinals of St. Louis. He was part of the World Series of Cardinals team in 2011. It was the first and the only ring in his career. He was an All-Star in 2012 with the cardinals.

Furcal played his last year in the majors in 2014 with the Miami Marlins.

He struck .281 with 587 RBI in 1,614 games.
