Karachi:
The city recorded an extremely hot and humid day on Monday, with temperatures affecting 40 degrees Celsius. Due to high humidity, residents experienced serious discomfort and stifling weather conditions during the afternoon. Most of the day looked like a heat wave, while certain suburban areas received light drizzle, letting the rest of the city wait in vain for precipitation.
The day started with a minimum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, and humidity increased significantly to 73%, which led to a suffocating start. While the sun flambed and the wind speeds dropped, the intensity of the heat increased regularly. In the afternoon, the city experienced heat wave type conditions, accompanied by intense humidity and suffocation.
According to the meteorological department, the maximum temperature in the city has reached 40 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels at 58%. The combined increase in temperature and humidity has made time even warmer than it really was.
Throughout the burning day, citizens were looking forward to precipitation. However, apart from light bruins and light rain in a few suburban areas, most parts of the city have remained dry. It should be mentioned that the meteorological department had scheduled the light rain on Monday to moderate with thunder and gusts in the city.
