The Prime Minister’s help on political and public affairs, Rana Sanaullah, rejected speculation concerning “stolen door talks” involving Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) and the establishment. He said that no dialogue would take place with the former ruling party through unofficial channels.
Earlier in the day, lawyer Gohar Ali Khan argued that PTI was not engaged in dialogue with other entities. Addressing a local television news channel on Tuesday, the leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) criticized PTI for jumping the fourth round of official discussions.
“Political problems can only be resolved by the official dialogue table that they [PTI] Abandoned today, “said Sanaullah.
The PTI boycotted the fourth session scheduled for Tuesday, quoting the government’s inability to establish judicial commissions to investigate the repression of the repression of May 9, 2023 and riots and on November 26, 2024, protest against Islamabad.
The PML-N leader has criticized PTI’s political approach over the past decade, accusing the party to harm the country’s political landscape. He also declared that PTI had missed the chance to receive the government’s response by jumping the negotiations.
Referring to the requests of PTI for a judicial commission, he pointed out: “No judge would like to join such a commission given the current circumstances.”
Responding to PTI’s warnings against street demonstrations, Sanaullah stressed that any demonstration would be greeted by legal action. “In a democratic system, problems are solved at the negotiating table, not in the streets,” he said.
