- Fulgar confirms ransomware attack linked to notorious RansomHouse group
- The attackers published internal documents including bank balances, invoices and sensitive communications.
- Fulgar’s clients include H&M, Adidas, Wolford and Calzedonia.
Fulgar, a historic producer of synthetic yarns supplying many major fashion houses, has confirmed that it has been the victim of a ransomware attack linked to the RansomHouse group.
The attackers listed Fulgar, on their leak site on November 12, claiming that they had encrypted data since October 31.
Screenshots shared on the leak site appeared to show internal files, including documents, spreadsheets, communications and financial information, as well as records appearing to relate to bank balances, invoices and exchanges with external agencies.
Global textile company now faces sample leaks
Fulgar has been a leading player in the fiber market since the late 1970s, producing polyamide 66 and coated elastomers used in hosiery, lingerie, sportswear and technical textiles.
The company operates Europe’s largest spinning mill and distributes Lycra and Elaspan to several regions, with operations extending to Italy, Sri Lanka and Turkey, and its client list includes H&M, Adidas, Wolford and Calzedonia.
The message included a warning to company management; “Dear management of Fulgar SpA, we are sure that you are not interested in leaking or selling your confidential data to a third party. We strongly advise you to start resolving this situation.”
This stolen information can form the basis for more specific phishing attempts based on privileged information.
RansomHouse has been active since 2021 and has listed over a hundred victims on its leak site.
US cyber authorities have already linked the group to subsidiaries cooperating with Iranian actors, noting that the agreements involve encryption support for a portion of the ransom payments.
The Fulgar breach once again shows that even large vendors can be exposed when a single ransomware group gains access to internal systems.
Protection against identity theft becomes important once sensitive records begin to surface, since exposed details can be reused in targeted attempts against staff or partners.
Using the best antivirus software can help reduce the risk of further compromise during such uncertain times.
A properly configured firewall provides additional protection against subsequent intrusion attempts that often accompany ransomware incidents.
Despite these layers, attackers can still use leaked internal documents to create highly convincing campaigns, creating greater risks for companies across all manufacturing sectors.
