The lieutenant of the Atlanta police department, Andrew Smith, said that the rapper, whose real name is Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey, was on a pursuit of the police and injured in the process, Tmz reported.
Bailey would have died of a leg injury caused by jumping over the fences.
The musician would have smoked at the back of a house while they answered a disruption call.
Smith insisted that no shot was fired during the incident.
Bailey, who collaborated with rappers like Future and Gucci Mane during his life, was also accused of drug trafficking in 2008.
