Ray J has filed new court documents accusing Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner of spending years promoting a false narrative about their leaked 2007 tape, claiming the two only sued him for defamation in order to “punish” him.
In recent documents, Ray J claims that Kardashian and Jenner “peddled the false story” that the tape was leaked without Kardashian’s consent, according to TMZ And Page six.
He maintains that the recording was consensual and filmed in 2003, and that the two men had discussed its release in 2006. According to him, Kardashian suggested that Jenner supervise the release.
Ray J claims the family is angry because he “doesn’t want to play along” with their version of events. He also says that Kardashian, Jenner and Kanye West falsely accused him on Hulu. The Kardashians sexual assault, revenge porn and extortion.
The filing insists that Ray J pushed back on the case through his lawyer at the time, leading to a settlement agreement in which Kardashian would pay him $6 million and stop referencing the tape on the show.
He alleges they broke that agreement almost immediately when Kardashian, Jenner, West and Kendall Jenner discussed the tape again.
His lawyer says in his filing that Ray J will not let the family “weaponize the justice system” or ignore its obligations.
Attorney Alex Spiro, representing Kardashian and Jenner, dismissed Ray J’s case in a statement to Page sixcalling it a “disjointed distraction” and a “frivolous case.”
Last month, Kardashian and Jenner sued Ray J for defamation after he claimed he was helping feds build a racketeering case against them.
Their lawsuit denied the existence of such a federal investigation and insisted that no law enforcement agency had opened a case related to the accusations.
Spiro said the mother-daughter duo had never filed a defamation suit before, but had “no choice” and had to respond to Ray J’s allegations.
