Reba McEntire reflects on her precious relationship with her late stepson, Brandon Blackstock.
The 70-year-old actress, who was previously married to the late manager’s father Narvel Blackstock, spoke candidly about her sweet memories with her beau.
For those who don’t know, Brandon died on August 7 after waging a private battle with cancer for three years. He was 48 years old.
“My relationship with my stepson, Brandon Blackstock, was precious,” remarked the doting mother-in-law. “I really loved that kid.”
“He came into my life, I guess he was 4. Then when Narvel and I got married, he was 13, 14,” she looked back.

Recalling one of Blackstock’s sweet childhood memories, McEntire exclaimed, “He loved scaring people. We’d be there at the Starstruck office. [which was owned by Narvel] in Nashville and I’ll be sitting at my desk and I’ll see Penny Chubb [a Starstruck Entertainment employee] walking on the way to the lady’s bathroom, and then here comes Brandon. He would hide behind the pillar. »
“We miss Brandon a lot, we really miss him with his mischief and his love of life. He brought joy to everyone who met him, and we will never forget him,” she added.
It is pertinent to mention that Blackstock also shared two children with his ex-wife, singer Kelly Clarkson.
