The Boston Red Sox locked someone they hope to be a franchise cornerstone.
Kristian Campbell, one of their best prospects that have made the Big League Club out of spring training, has signed an extension that could maintain it with the club for the next 10 seasons.
The two parties agreed with an extension of eight years worth 60 million dollars, ESPN reported. The team said the agreement is accompanied by club options for the 2033 and 2034 seasons.

Since Campbell was called for the opening day, he was under the control of the team until 2030 – he would do the minimum of the league for his first three seasons before the arbitration triggering.
Instead, the SOX and Campbell decided to give up all this and to be locked up for at least the next eight years.
Campbell made an impressive first impression at the start. The 22 -year -old interior field player is 6 for 16 (0.375) with a home run. He played at the three levels of the minor league ball last season and ratified wherever he went. He has not yet played a home game in Fenway Park, but it will come on Friday.

Naturally, Campbell is the sixth -row prospect in sport – while being another precious phenomenon of SOX in the Roman voltiseur Anthony ranks second behind Roki Sasaki. Marcelo Mayer, a short stop, is 11th. Anthony and Mayer are currently sitting in Triple-A.

The latest Red Sox player to win the recruit of the year was Dustin Pedroia in 2007 – he won the MVP the following season. Nomar Garciaparra, Fred Lynn and Carlton Fisk also won the prize with Boston, Lynn also winning the MVP in the same season in 1975.
