Rescue operations along the rivers

On Sunday, large -scale rescue and rescue operations continued through Punjab while Ravi River River waters and strong precipitation left thousands of people blocked in low areas.

Rescue teams 1122, Punjab police and highway police reported numerous evacuations, the total number of people rescued in the province exceeding 154,000.

According to the spokesperson for Rescue 1122, Farooq Ahmed, the emergency staff saved 220 people, including women, children and elderly citizens, from the village of Khurdpur near the Mandi manga. 16 other people were evacuated from Wadana, a neighboring colony. All rescued people have been moved to safe places as well as personal effects. Ahmed said that rescue rescue operations of Rescue 1122 continued day and night, with calls received by the assistance line.

Citizens were invited to share specific locations when looking for help to allow a timely response.

Punjab police said that evacuations across the province have reached a significant number. Local people include 63,788 men, 45,337 women and more than 45,000 children. Police also moved more than 167,000 livestock to secure areas to avoid losses.

In Lahore, more than 6,000 people were evacuated.

Punjab police spokesperson said operations were supported by more than 700 vehicles and 40 boats.

Punjab police inspector general, Dr. Usman Anwar ordered an improved patrol in the evacuated neighborhoods to protect the property of the citizens of theft or damage.

In the emergency camps, the police were responsible for providing full security in addition to ensuring that food and other necessities are delivered to displaced persons.

Dr. Anwar ordered coordination with the province of disaster management (PDMA), district administrations, rescue 1122 and other security agencies, as well as regular patrols in villages and colonies along the banks to monitor the situation of floods.
