Rescuers have found the bodies of 11 coal miners who died following a methane explosion that caused the collapse of a mine in Balochistan, officials said Monday.

According to Abdul Ghani, mines inspector, the search continues for a 12th miner missing since Thursday’s collapse.

In another incident, two more miners were killed in another coal mine collapse in Harnai district of Balochistan on Sunday. These deaths highlight the ongoing risks faced by workers in the region’s coal industry.

Apart from mining disasters, security forces recently rescued eight of 16 miners kidnapped by militants in Lakki Marwat in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. An operation is still underway to save the remaining miners.
