Digital Bank Revolut works with Lightspark to deploy Bitcoin (BTC) transactions on Lightning Network to UK customers and selecting the countries of the European Economic Area (EEE).
The functionality aims to reduce transaction costs and payments processing time for crypto users, Lightspark said in a blog article. When asked in an email, the company did not specify the calendar for the moment when the functionality is put online.
Lightspark, led by the former Paypal director, David Marcus, provides a backend infrastructure to connect to what she calls the “monetary network” – a decentralized network for global payments in real time.
The Lightning network is a layer 2 system built above the Bitcoin blockchain which allows almost low-end moments. By connecting to the network via Lightspark, revolut users will be able to bypass congestion and the high costs of the basic blockchain to send BTC faster and more efficiently,
“Integration to Lightspark is a natural step,” said Emil Urmanshin, CEO of Crypto de Revolut, in the position. “We are always trying to render financial services more quickly and more affordable – and their approach to global transactions allows us to do exactly that.”
Integration Place Le Revolut based in London among the growing number of fintech companies based on faster crypto-native payment systems. The Bitcoin -based payment company treated $ 6 billion in volumes last year, CEO Jack Malers said in a shared investor letter in a Post X last month.
