“Novak Djokovic. First in tennis. First of all in integrity. First of all to courage. Guess who won this match?” Trump’s office manager wrote.

Djokovic emerged as a polarizing figure at the height of the coronavirus pandemic on his refusal to receive the COVVI-19 shot. However, Australian border officials determined that he did not meet the entry requirements. The case of Djokovic was returned to the courts and his visa was then canceled. He was removed from the tournament, but continued to win it in 2023.

Djokovic had no regrets concerning his decision to skip the covid shot and defend his own principles.

He said “60 minutes” in 2023, he was not “anti-Vax” but rather “pro-liberté to choose” if he wanted to get a blow or not.
