The regular WNBA 2025 season entered its section at home. But before reaching its conclusion, the League announced that a record number of fans attended matches this season.
Wednesday, “2,501,609 fans” participated in the WNBA matches in person, which established the “record for attendance for all time,” said the League. The figure exceeded the previous brand which was set in 2002.
The WNBA had 16 teams at the time, but is currently made up of only 13 franchises. The WNBA 256 matches also needed to reach the milestone in 2002.

The explosion of popularity in female university basketball, initially stimulated by the rivalry of Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese, was brought to the WNBA last season when the two players were recruited.

The closed counters have become the standard for Clark and Indiana fever.

Although Clark and Reese have both missed time due to injuries this season, ticket sales have not slowed down thanks to the arrival of Bueckers recruit in Dallas, the curiosity of the expansion of Golden State Valkyries and an enlarged television coverage.

The regular season wraps in mid-September. The minnesota lynx has already won a place in the playoff series, while the Chicago sky, the Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings have already been officially eliminated from after-season claims.

The WNBA increased the 40 -game calendar from last year to 44 games this season.
