Robert Pattinson shared his reflections on his Die my love The impotence of the character about the postpartum struggle of his wife.
Dies my love Based on the novel of the same name by Ariana Harwicz, follows the fight against Jennifer Lawrence’s new mother with depression and psychosis.
Pattinson and Lawrence could understand the fate of their characters, be new parents themselves.
The Twilight star noted that as a husband, “trying to understand what is your role in the relationship is incredibly difficult”, explaining that his character is an ordinary guy who does not have “vernacular” to be able to support his wife.
“As if he was just a guy. He doesn’t seem to be the guy who looks at Tiktok wrapped parenting and stuff,” he said.
“He just hopes that the relationship will come back to what it was and does not understand why it happens to them, why this intruder has entered this relationship. I guess it is a fear that everyone has as soon as they have a child,” he added.
Thinking about his usual choice of characters to play, he noted that his character Ie My Love is the opposite of what he usually plays.
“I am attracted to incredibly abrasive and rather obscure characters, but Jackson was a normal guy,” said Robert Pattinson. “When you are dealing with a person who goes through postpartum or any kind of mental illness, you try to face their isolation and try to understand what your role is in the relationship and try to keep.”
