- Auacy has deleted its application from the Roku platform
- There has been no official announcement so far
- The best alternatives offer a lot of the same content
If you have used the AUCY application to broadcast radio stations, podcasts or music via your Roku device or your TV, I have bad news: Auacy has deleted the application of the platform.
It is naturally upset many listeners. Audacy is a big fish in the streaming pond, delivering names, including CNN, CBS Radio Sports and many others, as well as many podcasts and music.
We do not know why Auacy has decided to withdraw its application, but Cord Cutters News has possible explanations: maybe they did not like the terms of their Roku agreement, or perhaps this is part of a change of concentration which will mean focusing on fewer platforms. But whatever the explanation, this means that audacy listeners will need an alternative – and here are some of the best options.
What applications are good replacements for the Auchy?
There is no shortage of audio applications on the Roku Channel store, and the first to check is IHEART. It is one of the biggest radio streamers, with the most popular AM and FM stations in North America cities as well as a good selection of radio, podcasts and music stations from all over the world.
The other big name here is Melo. Like Iheart, he has a wide selection and includes channels of big names such as NPR, CNN, ESPN Radio and the BBC.
Siriusxm Another well-known name offers a mixture of music, podcasts and cats, and there are a lot of themed music banners covering each imaginable niche-Yacht Rock Miami, someone?
If you browse the music and podcasts section of the Channel store, you will also find the big audio streaming cannons such as Apple Music (but unfortunately not Apple podcasts), Amazon Music, Spotify, Youtube (many audio podcasts also download video versions on the video streamer) and Pandora.
