Ronnie Coleman, a bodybuilding legend that shares the record of all time with eight titles from Mr. Olympia, was hospitalized this weekend due to a “serious medical condition,” said his family.
Coleman’s family published a statement on the Facebook page of the native of Louisiana.

“We want to inform Ronnie fans, supporters and the bodybuilding community that Ronnie Coleman was admitted to hospital this Sunday morning due to a serious medical condition,” the statement said on Monday. “He currently receives expert medical care and continues to show incredible strength and resilience.
“For the moment, we do not share additional details, because the emphasis remains on the recovery and well-being of Ronnie. We kindly ask for your understanding and your support to keep the environment respectful and without speculation.”
Coleman announced for the first time that he was dealing with a health problem on Sunday, saying that he was dealing with a “medical emergency” and that it would prevent him from an event in the United Kingdom, according to the New York Post.

He told fans not to worry and said he was “in great hands”.
Coleman’s family has expressed its optimism.
“Ronnie has always inspired the world with his tenacity and her heart, and we know that he feels love and energy sent on his way.”

Coleman, 61, played university football at Grambling State under the legendary Eddie Robinson in the late 1980s. He began to pursue a career in bodybuilding in 1990.
He won 26 international fitness and bodybuilding titles. His eight victories of Mr. Olympia all came consecutively, and he was inducted into the temple of renowned international sports in 2016.
