Islamabad:
The Senate on Economic Affairs Committee detected Mega Corruption on Thursday in the DASU hydroelectric transmission line project, calling for an in -depth investigation by the competent authorities, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The committee which met its president of Senator Saifullah Abro in the president, was informed that the project contract had been awarded on the basis of a letter from the engineering development administration (EDB) in 2015, while the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) presented bad figures.
The president expressed his anger at the alleged corruption of the project, amounted to 600 million rupees. “How could the project be given to a company based on a letter,” he raised the question. “It is the responsibility of all the institutions to investigate it.”
The committee was informed that Nespak had presented bad figures during the meticulous examination of the tenderer, and the director general of Nespak confessed the bad figures. The Committee has directed measures against the incorrects presented by NESPAK officials.
“The negligence of the division of power [in this issue] should be studied. This question should be investigated by Nab and Fia, “Abro told the Committee.” Officials who have given bad figures should be dismissed, “he added.
