RS722.48B reserved for BISP, RS10.23B for the division of poverty reduction

Islamabad:

The government unveiled on Tuesday the budget for the year 2025-2026, describing the allowances to social protection and governance institutions.

According to official budgetary documents, the Benazir income support program (BISP) is expected to receive 722.48 billion rupees, reflecting the government’s continuous emphasis on poverty reduction.

RS10.23 billion additional rupees are offered for the division of poverty reduction, while 14.20 billion rupees were reserved for Pakistan Baitul badly.

The Ministry of the Interior and its subordinate departments will receive 343.89 billion rupees, including 21.26 billion rupees for the territory of the capital Islamabad (ICT) and 274.15 billion rupees for the combined civil forces. The Intelligence Office (IB) is expected to obtain 19.12 billion rupees, while 1.05 billion rupees were reserved for Nacta.

For the ministry of Law and justice, RS23.42 billion were proposed. The Supreme Court will receive 6.64 billion rupees and the High Court of Islamabad 2.17 billion rupees. The Pakistan Electoral Commission received 9.86 billion rupees.

Parliamentary institutions also receive important allowances:

• National Assembly: RS16.29 billion

• Senate: Rs.05 billion

• MNA: 5.08 billion rupees for wages and advantages

• Parliamentary travel costs: 2.50 billion rupees

• Presidents of permanent committees: RS1.24 billion

• speaker and vice-president: RS393.4 million

• Opposition and staff leader: 83.4 million rupees

• Sages and advantages of senators: RS1.0638 billion

• President and vice-president of the Senate and their staff: RS189.6 million

• Presidents of the Senate permanent committees: 1.44 billion rupees

The Prime Minister’s office received 896.5 million rupees, marking an increase in RS1.795 billion compared to the previous year. The Prime Minister’s office (internal) will receive 857.7 million rupees, up Rs1,245 billion.

The expenses of the Prime Minister’s office are listed at 303.5 million rupees, while 2.5 billion rupees were reserved for the chairman’s chamber, including 933.7 million rupees for public charges and 1.75 billion rupees for personal staff and compensation.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will receive 7.41 billion rupees, while the Pakistan Judicial Commission and the Supreme Judicial Council have attributed 500 million rupees and 140 million rupees, respectively.

The railroad division is offered to receive 70.45 billion rupees, highlighting the accent put by the government on infrastructure and connectivity.
