Islamabad:
Federal Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, said the budget of 9.8 billion rupees in the Prime Minister on Tuesday to establish 11 new Danish schools for talented students in marginalized areas.
The minister, during his budget in 2025-26, said that three schools will be built in Azad Jammu-et-Cachemire, three in Gilgit-Baltistan, four in Balutchistan, and one in Islamabad under the Federal PSDP 2025-26.
In addition, he said that the Prime Minister announced the creation of the Danish University Islamabad, an institution at no cost of tuition offering world class education in emerging technologies, engineering, health and IT for students in distant regions.
The University will showcase modern infrastructure, trained teachers and research facilities, with planning and construction of master and construction to start the next exercise.
Stressing education as the “cornerstone of national development”, Aurangzeb declared that the federal government had reaffirmed its commitment to a quality education system under article 25-A of the constitution and the framework of the education of Pakistan Uraan.
The Minister of Finance said that Pakistan is faced with major challenges, including 26 million children outside the school and systemic gaps in access, equity, governance and standards. He said that a total of 18.5 billion rupees had been allocated to education initiatives, including early childhood centers to reduce abandonment rates. Computer laboratories and the National Institute of Excellence to improve learning standards.
Similarly, 3 billion rupees to rebuild 1,800 schools damaged by floods in the Sindh on a cost sharing basis of 50:50 with the provinces.
