Rubio rents

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from the US Secretary of State on Friday Marco Rubio, during which the two parties discussed a wide range of regional and global issues in what has been described as a cordial and friendly atmosphere.

According to a statement published by the Prime Minister’s office, the Prime Minister stressed that the climbing of the crisis of Iran-Israel could only be resolved by dialogue and diplomacy.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive role in all peace efforts in the midst of a situation that poses serious concerns not only for the region but for the world as a whole.

Prime Minister Shehbaz responded to his best wishes for US President Donald Trump and praised his courageous leadership. He also appreciated the active diplomacy of Rubio, in particular his role in the facilitation of the cease-fire agreement between Pakistan and India.

Stressing Trump’s positive statements on Pakistan, the Prime Minister described them to encourage stages to long -term peace in South Asia. He stressed that sustainable peace could only be achieved thanks to the significant dialogue between Pakistan and India.

In this context, he reiterated the will of Pakistan to engage in talks with India on all exceptional questions, including Jammu-Cachemire, Treaty, Trade and Cooperation against Indus terrorism.

The situation in the Middle East also appeared prominently in the discussion. The PM Shehbaz reiterated that the only viable solution lies in peaceful dialogue and diplomatic commitment. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to play a constructive role in defusing tensions.

On economic issues, he referred to Trump’s interest in strengthening bilateral trade and expressed Pakistan’s desire to extend cooperation with the United States in key sectors such as trade, investment, energy, minerals, rare earth elements and information technologies.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s determination to eradicate terrorism, the PM has spoken of continuous efforts to eliminate the threat posed by extremist groups such as the Balutchistan Liberation Army (Bla), Tehreek-I-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and others.

In response, Rubio appreciated the efforts to combat Pakistan terrorism and ensured the full support of the United States in this regard.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also expressed his satisfaction at the end of the recent meeting between Trump and the staff chief of the army, Marshal Asim Munnir in Washington, describing him as pleasant and productive.

The two parties have agreed to the need to translate the recent progress in bilateral dialogue in concrete and practical cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed the importance of maintaining high -level contacts and has extended a renewed invitation to Trump to undertake an official visit to Pakistan. He expressed his eagerness to meet the American president soon and also invited Rubio to visit Pakistan in the near future.

In closing, the American Secretary of State thanked the PM for having taken his appeal and expressed the strong desire of the United States to deepen cooperation with Pakistan in all areas of common interest.

He also recognized the continuous efforts of Pakistan to maintain the ceasefire with India and play a positive role in promoting peace, in particular given his strong relations with Iran.

Rubio stressed that the United States remains determined to work closely with Pakistan to promote regional and global peace and stability.
