Ryan Blaney will be driving the Penske car of team No. 12 for the Coca-Cola 600 with the cold drinks of Bodyarmor sporting the hood of his vehicle. The colleague of the Nascar series of the Nascar Cup of Blaney, Kyle Larson, will try to make “double”.

“The Double” is one of the most difficult exploits that a racing car driver could try to do during his career. This implies running the Indy 500, then flying on an airplane for Charlotte for Coca-Cola 600. Larson became one of the five pilots to try “double” last year, but failed to go to the Nascar race.

Blaney told PK Press Club Digital that he was “treated” to watch Larson try last year.

“It’s the biggest day in the race,” said Blaney. “You are Monaco early, then you became Indy, then we finish with the 600. I get up and watch Monaco in the morning, I delight the guys from Penske for the 500 and then I prepare to run. I think it’s an excellent feat. It was good to watch him do it last year.”

Conor Daly seeks to engrave his name in more than the simple history of Indy 500

An attempt at “The Double” seemed to prick the interest of Blaney since the Penske team has drivers in competition at Indy 500.

“But yes, that’s something I have always considered,” said Blaney. “You never know, maybe on the road if I have a chance. I am with a big team that has a chance to do it, but we will see. You will never know, we will discover it.”

Larson, John Andretti, Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon and Kurt Busch all tried the feat. Stewart was the only driver in the group to finish both races on the same day.

No pilot has won one or the other race while attempting.

Larson hopes that changes will come on Sunday.
