Ryan Gosling teams up with recent Oscar-winning directors for new film

Ryan Gosling is wasting no time preparing for his next big project.

Days after Hail Mary Project shattered box office records, the actor has signed on to star in the upcoming film Everything everywhere at the same time directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the filmmaking duo known as the Daniels.

The untitled Universal Pictures project is currently scheduled for release on November 19, 2027, with the news confirmed by multiple media outlets on Thursday, March 26.

The timing is striking.

Hail Mary ProjectGosling’s new sci-fi adventure, opened to $80.6 million at the domestic box office in its first weekend, with an additional $60.4 million collected internationally.

This makes it the biggest opening ever for an Amazon MGM Studios release, surpassing 2023. Creed IIIand the biggest national debut of the year so far, ahead of February’s Scream 7.

Kwan and Scheinert, both 38, became one of Hollywood’s most sought-after creative forces after Everything everywhere at the same time won the 2023 Academy Awards, winning seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh, and Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan.

Gosling expressed his belief in the theatrical experience.

In a surprise appearance at a New York screening of Hail Mary Project earlier this week, he told the audience that it was “the job of the film industry to create things that are worth releasing” in theaters.

His schedule for the next few years is great.

Alongside the Daniels project, he is expected to star in the upcoming Star Wars movie, Starfighterscheduled for May 2027, and an action comedy starring Will Ferrell titled Tough guys.
