Ryne Sandberg renowned temple, Chicago Cubs icon, died at 65

The legend of the temple of fame and the Chicago Cubs, Ryne Sandberg, died after a long battle against cancer, MLB announced on Monday evening.

Sandberg was 65 years old.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of the temple of renown Ryne Sandberg,” MLB wrote in a press release on social networks.

“With great sadness, we share that Ryne Sandberg has died today,” wrote the Cubs in a declaration on X with a photo of “Ryno”.

Sandberg was appointed MVP of the League during the 1984 season, where he had a war of 8.5 League leaders, while carrying out the way in the races (114) and the triples (19). He reduced .314 / .367 / .520 that year with 36 doubles, 19 circuits and 84 points produced on 156 games.

“On June 23, 2024, the 340th anniversary of his emblematic moment, the Cubs unveiled a statue of Sandberg outside Wrigley Field,” continued the MLB declaration.

Sandberg was inducted at the national baseball renowned temple in 2005.
