Salesforce finally concluded its $ 8 billion agreement to buy Informatica while he is looking to take the next step forward on his IA trip.
The purchase of the Cloud data management company will offer Salesforce a major increase in AI technology, especially because it continues to produce and deploy the next generation of AI agents.
“Together, Salesforce and Informatica will create the most complete and ready data platform for the industry agent,” said Marc Benioff, President and Chief Executive Officer of Salesforce.
Salesforce Informatica Takeover
“Undergoing its forces with Salesforce represents a significant jump in our journey to give life to data and AI by allowing companies of the transformative power of their most critical asset – their data,” said Amit Walia, CEO of Informatica.
“We have a shared vision on how we can help organizations exploit full value of their data in the AI era.”
The CRM giant had been forced to submit plans for informational control in April 2024 due to investors’ pressure, but a little more than a year later, the agreement concluded.
Salesforce claims that when the agreement is concluded, it plans to quickly integrate the technological battery of Informatica “into its existing services and systems, including the addition of data integration, quality, governance and unified metadata for agentforce and a single data pipeline with MDM on the data cloud.
Just as he did with the previous acquisitions, the company said that it would support the Informatica plans to build its own products, which will then be part of the wider ecosystem of Salesforce.
“By uniting the power of data cloud, Mulesoft and Table with the advanced management capacities of computer data, we allow autonomous agents to provide smarter, safer and more scalable results for each company, and considerably strengthen our position in the $ 150 billion data market to $ 150 billion,” added Benioff.
Salesforce noted to combine the rich data catalog, data integration, governance, quality and confidentiality, metadata management and data management (MDM) with the Salesforce platform, “Establish a unified architecture for the AI agency – allowing AI agents to operate safely, responsible and on the scale of modern enterprise”.
“Effective and quality AI requires more than data – it requires data transparency, deep contextual understanding and rigorous governance,” added the company.
