Sam Bankman Fried’s prison sentence could be reduced over 4 years old: Business Insider

Sam Bankman Fried, the founder and former CEO of the late Crypto Exchange FTX, could be released from prison in December 2044, more than four years earlier than his initial sentence, according to Business Insider.

Sentenced in 2023 for seven chiefs of fraud and conspiracy, Bankman Fried was sentenced to 25 years in March 2024 for orchestrated a fraud of $ 11 billion.

Prosecutors have shown that he had channeled FTX customer funds to Alameda Research, his cryptographic healing fund, using money to support investments, make political donations and enrich and close partners.

After his conviction, Freed Bankman was transferred to a federal low -security prison in San Pedro, California, following a visit to the Brooklyn metropolitan detention center.

During his stay, he lived in the same unit as Sean “Diddy” Combs and gave a surprise interview to Tucker Carlson.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, his sentence has been reduced thanks to an accumulated “time of good conduct”, which allows prisoners to win up to 54 days of leave per year and to participate in unpertified penitentiary programs, said Business Insider. The time spent behind bars before the conviction is also taken into account.

Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda and a key witness in the case of government, was sentenced to two years, but should now be released in May 2026 after similar reductions.
