- Tizen 9.0 takes place until 2024 Samsung TVS
- European owners already receive the update
- Availability for 2023 TV is still unknown
One of our favorite things on the best Samsung televisions in 2025 is the improved Tizen operating system, which, in our view, is the best version it has offered so far. So, the recent arrival of Tizen 90 on 2024-MODEL TVS is a very welcome upgrade.
My colleague James Davidson entered in detail on Tizen 9.0 here, praising the updated game center, the quick menu apparently inspired by LG and the redrawn home screen.
It is not quite THE Best Smart TV platform – We believe that LGOS always has the advantage, and the update deletes the Hgig Game HDR option, which is used for live broadcast – but it is really good and will be welcome to older sets.
What Samsung televisions get the upgrade of Tizen 9.0?
According to Flatpanelleshd, the owners in Europe began to obtain version 2106.0 of the firmware this month, July 2025. This takes their operating system from Tizen 8.0 to Tizen 9.0.
This is the good news. The bad news is that it will be a slow deployment, with Samsung adding additional televisions to the upgrade emission gradually – and this means that it could be a few months before all compatible televisions are improved. If your television is not one of the flagship models that could mean a little to wait for the firmware to be available.
There is also uncertainty on 2023 model televisions, because Samsung has not yet engaged in a time scale for upgrading these models. However, Samsung has promised seven years of updates to all the 2023 models and later, it is therefore not a question of knowing whether these televisions will obtain the update; It’s just a question of when.
