Samsung has confirmed that several of its latest Galaxy Watch models are affected by a sleep monitoring problem, but fortunately, it has also recommended some fixes.
On a Samsung community forum in Korea (spotted by Samobile), the company revealed that two of its best smart watches, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, perhaps did not measure sleep.
The problem, which also affects the Galaxy Watch 4, 5 and 6, means that “the measurement values related to sleep is not properly reflected in the Samsung Health application on the Galaxy watch”. (Translated)
Samsung has offered some patches for users who may encounter problems. As indicated, this declaration was only published on a Korean forum, it is therefore not clear at this stage if it is a specific problem for the region – we have contacted Samsung for more information.
Anyway, if you have sleep monitoring problems on your Galaxy watch, here are some things you can do.
How to repair sleep monitoring on the Galaxy watch
Faithful to the technological troubleshooting form, Samsung says that the first thing that users should do is turn off and deactivate their device.
In the meantime, it indicates that it operates on an updated version of the Samsung Health application which will solve the problem.
More specifically, Samsung also recommends users to activate, then deactivate the galaxy watch saving mode in the Settings Application on the Watch.
Finally, users should also download the latest update of the Samsung Health application from the Galaxy Store. Whether it is the updated application that the company has promised or a provisional correction in the meantime, is not clear. But if you encounter sleep monitoring problems with your Galaxy watch, all of these fixes are good places to start.
As mentioned, we contacted Samsung concerning the problem, and we will update this story with all the new information he gives us.
