The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 seems to have disclosed in its entirety, revealing that the company could be ready to introduce a change in massive design.
The leak follows the emergence of the One Ui 8 Watch update, which revealed that major software changes arrived at the Galaxy Watch, including Gemini AI.
As identified by Android Authority, animation files for new models buried in the code of the next launch of the software reveal the design of the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, the two apparently having a body in the shape of a “skid”.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Design
The best intelligent watches on the market, especially the best Apple watches, all include a squirt design which is easier to lend itself to a portable user interface. According to my experience, circular wear bone devices tend to have poorly spaced and useless conceptions that never feel as effective as Watchos.
However, if these design leaks are precise (these could also be reserved space images which do not reflect the final design) – Samsung adopts the square chassis of the Galaxy Watch Ultra while keeping the circular display of the classic range, which is undoubtedly the worst of the two worlds.
The images clearly show a Galaxy Watch 8 and 8 Classic which resembles Apple Ultra and a Myriad watches, which would be a huge reshuffle of the current design.
As the report notes, the Galaxy Watch 8 seems to be adjusted to keep its two buttons, while the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic seems set to add the quick button of the Ultra.
A firmware video also shared by AA clearly reveals a Galaxy Watch 8 with a squirt design. The report also notes that the files “do not seem to be reserved spaces”, but does not exclude the possibility.
If these images are the real deal, the Galaxy Watch 8 could mark the end of an era for Samsung, with the retreat of its iconic circular design leaving the Pixel watch as the best Android smartwatch still kissing the circular chassis.
With the Galaxy Watch 8 which should be launched in July, we do not have long to wait before discovering it.
