- Samsung should unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 during a July launch event
- A new leak says that the company also has a surprise audio product
- It would be a set of bone conduction headphones
A new report says that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will take place in July, accompanied by the unveiling of a new surprise audio product: bone conduction.
The news comes from the universe of famous (and generally reliable) ice cream on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, which says: “Sources have revealed that the MX division of Samsung Electronics will publish conduction headphones during the launch event of Samsung Fold 7 in July.”
It seems that Samsung arrives after the best bone conduction headphones on the market, offering a new audio solution which is sure to be popular with runners and cyclists who like the light and discreet design of bone conduction headphones, and the additional security they bring by allowing you to listen to your environment.
The leak, spotted for the first time by Android Authority, continued to assert that the headphones are the code name “ABSE” and will include “an open wireless stereo (OWS) which transmits the sound around the ear instead of connecting the headphones to the ear”.
Samsung launches … something
As exciting as this leak is for runners, cyclists and others, the second part of the leak slumped somewhat water. OWS headphones generally refer to headphones that pump sound in your ear via air conduction, while bone conduction headphones use vibrations to transmit audio via your skull.
The result is the same, however: you get good audio quality while your ear channels remain free and open to listen to the dangers while you are on the go, one of the main reasons why they are so popular with outdoor athletes.
There can be a linguistic barrier here, or confusion on technology. Or maybe Samsung has prepared exciting headphones that use a combination of bone conduction and air conduction.
Be that as it may, if Ice Universe is correct, these headphones will be launched in July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and different from the existing Galaxy Buds range, which you can find in our overview the best headphones.
It remains to be seen if Shokz is to see the first attempt from Samsung to bring down the helmets like Shokz.
