Rumors about the long -awaited XR headset launch of Samsung are again regaining steam, because there are reports that people will be able to prepare the helmet on October 15 – before a launch of October 22.
Now all rumors must be taken with a pinch of salt. This is particularly true here, because we had recently heard that Samsung technology would see its beginnings at the end of September, but we know that the Moohan project will be launched this year on the basis of the previous promises of Samsung – so ultimately a prediction of its release date will be realized.
Be that as it may, this report passes via Chosunbiz (a South Korean point of sale, an article machine translated into English) who affirms that the initiates of the industry revealed both the week of pre-registration and the launch date.
The report has not detailed much on the launch. However, previous leaks have suggested that this will not be a world start.
That is to say that Project Moohan – or whatever the name it takes when it will leave the public – will not be available everywhere. Instead, it should be exclusive to Korea at the start (maybe see a launch in a few nearby Asian countries at the same time).
It is not completely unknown. Samsung has already made its debut on the exclusive technology of South Korea – such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE – and other companies are known to deploy the equipment regularly, generally with a home launch first.
Example: Meta-Ray-Ban display glasses make their debut in the United States first and will not arrive elsewhere before 2026.
The most exciting VR launch of 2025
Project Moohan feels like something of a launch of Make Or-Brise for VR, and I write it as someone who loves virtual reality and uses my meta quest 3 each week.
The Apple Vision Pro has come and came, and as much spirit sharing, it presents itself for XR Tech which has not translated sales by any section of all accounts.
I tested a sea of VR headsets, and my advice is that there are only two options: the meta quest 3 or the meta quest 3S. Nothing else is getting closer when you consider the full set of software, price, specifications and conviviality.
Perhaps because of this monopolization (a dominant meta has undoubtedly won) VR seems quite stagnant, and much less exciting than the new era of intelligent glasses incorporating AI and AR.
Moohan, I hope, will bring an essential boost to virtual reality and give us an alternative to quest 3 that people could really buy and use.
If this is not the case, I am convinced that virtual reality may become out of date. Innovation requires competition, and if Meta continues to compete only against herself, it is not good for any of us-unless you are a meta-employed.
We will have to wait and see what Moohan has in store. It doesn’t seem to be long in waiting for us. Which is good news for me, because I don’t know how long I can hold my breath for the very prophesied meta-tuer.
