- The new Tipoffs suggest that the delay of Samsung One 7 will be lifted on April 15
- In addition, new images claim to show a first version of One UI 8 operating on a Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Samsung has not yet finished deploying an IU 7
Samsung has already caught a lot of Flak for the chaotic generational deployment of an IU 7, the implementation by Android 15 company for Samsung Galaxy phones – and a last minute delay announced on April 14 did not help the situation.
However, a notable predictioner applied that this delay could be more a bump on the road than a complete stop, the last rumors suggesting that the break will be lifted on April 15 – it is today at the time of the editorial staff.
This comes from Ice Universe, a leading forecaster who shared the suggestion in an apparently deleted article on X (formerly Twitter), which was then reported by Android Authority.
According to an article of April 15 carried out by an unnamed manager of Samsung Solutions and a moderator of the forum of the Korean Community forum of Samsung, the deployment of the update was interrupted due to “certain problems requiring maintenance”, but they also note that Samsung has “completed its inspection and will resume updates soon”.
One UI 7 is the long -awaited Android 15 update for Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets. Although a pre-liberation version of the update can be found on the telephones of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, as well as the latest models in the A series, One UI 7 is still considered unprecedented because it has not yet finished its deployment to older combinations like the Samsung Galaxy S24.
It took Samsung so long to implement an IU 7 – based on Android 15, which published in September 2024 – which we previously reported on the concerns that Android 16 could publish before Samsung managed to make the update.
A UI 8 possible disclosed images
Although Samsung seems to have almost won the race against Android 16, another rumor was used to visualize how much we are in the next development cycle.
The images shared by SmartPrix claim to display a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 phone running an early alpha version of an 8 user interface, based on Android 16.
In addition to some minor visual adjustments to a handful of applications, the report suggests that an IU 8 focuses mainly on optimization.
The report adds that the fact that only a few applications have made changes suggest that an IU 8 is at the very first stages of development.
Indeed, if the launch of One UI 7 marks a reset of the annual development cycle of Samsung, we may not expect to see an 8 user interface launched until 2026.
Personally, I would be satisfied with a smaller and easier update next time, if it means a faster deployment that we have seen with a user interface.
