- Samsung would have interrupted its deployment of an IU 7 on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6
- This would be due to a bug that prevents users from unlocking their phone
- This delay could mean that there is also a delay in other Samsung devices obtaining an IU 7
It was a long wait for Android 15 on the best Samsung phones (despite the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, which launched with it). The update arrived on Google’s Pixel phones in October, but it has just started to move on the flagship products of Samsung – and now a delay has put it back.
According to the leaks @universeice and @ Tarunvats33 (via the Android font), the ONE UI 7 update – which is taking Samsung on Android 15 – was interrupted for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the world.
As for the reason, @universeice says that some people who downloaded the update found that their phones “could not be unlocked normally in some cases”. So it looks like a fairly important problem, which would make sense since Samsung would have interrupted the update.
Unable to unlock
The reason for the delay in the push of the Galaxy S24 is that users of the official version of an IU7 in the Korean series S24 revealed that “they could not be unlocked normally in some cases”. Samsung urgently examined the withdrawal of firmware in other countries.April 14, 2025
We do not know how common this problem is, but if you already have the UI 7 update and you experience it, we imagine that Samsung is working on a correction as quickly as possible.
As for all the others, you will probably have to wait a little longer than expected to get a user interface 7 – but at least, once you do it, it will work, hopefully, will work as expected.
Unfortunately, however, this delay probably means that there will also be a delay in the deployment of a user interface 7 to other Samsung devices, so if you swing an older or less deep handset, you may have a while to wait.
It is all the more disappointing that Android 16 could be a few months old, so Samsung may slide well behind.
