- We could see the Samsung triple on October 31
- A full launch could happen sometime later
- The new foldable was first revealed in January
We’ve been waiting for Samsung’s trifold phone to be officially revealed for most of 2025, and the latest leak from those in the know suggests that it’s finally going to be introduced to the world before the end of the month.
A person “familiar with the matter” told Bloomberg that the phone will be unveiled at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in South Korea, which is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 31.
This isn’t a traditional product launch, however: the report says the tri-fold will likely be displayed behind glass, so the various leaders gathered for APEC 2025 won’t be able to touch the phone or subject it to any durability testing.
This is the second time we’ve heard rumors that the Samsung tri-fold is going to be revealed at APEC 2025, and given Bloomberg’s track record, it seems pretty certain that it will happen – even if we have to continue to wait to actually buy it.
The waiting game
A previous prediction that we’d see the handset in late September clearly didn’t come to fruition, although Samsung itself said the triple would launch before the end of the year – and we’re starting to run out of weeks.
There are also question marks over availability: reports suggest the triple won’t actually go on sale until November, although it at least looks like it’s going to launch globally, unlike some other Samsung foldables.
When the phone does see the light of day, we suspect it will use an inward-folding design (with an inner and outer screen), and it could well feature three separate batteries and be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
If you’re looking to make this device your next smartphone upgrade, it’s definitely going to cost you: leaks have pointed to a starting price of around $3,000 (around £2,235 / AU$4,640), which is really par for the course for this type of device.
