New York prosecutors apparently plan to drop their file or not against the co -founders of Samurai Wallet Keonne Rodriguez and William Lonergan Hill, according to a judicial file on Monday.
In a joint letter to the district judge Richard Berman of the South District of New York (SDNY), the prosecutors and lawyers of Rodriguez and Hill asked that the case be granted to a request of 16 days, or an extension, “while the government determines its post” in response to the request of the defense that the case is rejected under the Ministry of the Blanche).
In his memo of April 7, Blanche announced that the Crypto Unit of the Doj, the national team of application of the cryptocurrency (NCET) would be dissolved and asked the staff to no longer bring cases against crypto exchanges, mixing services or offline wallets “for the acts of their end users or the involuntary violations of the regulations”.
Blanche ordered the closing of current investigations incompatible with this new policy, and said that his office would work with the Doj’s criminal division to “examine the current affairs for consistency with this policy”.

Three days after Blanche’s note note, Hill and Rodriguez’s lawyers sent a letter to the SDNY prosecutors “requesting the rejection of the replacement of replacement under the white memo”, according to the file on Monday on April 24, the parties met to discuss the request.
Last April, Rodriguez and Hill were accused of conspiracy in order to commit money laundering and a conspiracy to operate a business transmission company without license. The accusations bear a maximum sentence of 20 years and five years respectively. Prosecutors said Samurai Wallet had facilitated about $ 2 billion in “illegal transactions” between 2015 and 2024, the pair collected $ 4.5 million.
