Lahore:
The adviser of the Prime Minister of Political and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, urged the people not to support the “disturbing forces”, referring to the PTI, warning that if the situation has become uncontrollable, “terrorists and murderers” could take over.
He also defended the role of the armed forces in the development of the country, rejecting the criticisms which direct them as useless.
Addressing an event linked to the minority in Faisalabad, Sanaullah stressed that if Pakistan’s progress continues uninterrupted and that no rehearsal of October 12 occurs, the country will permanently overcome its economic crises.
He said that over the next two years, Pakistan would reach stability, having built a budgetary cushion strong enough to resist future economic shocks.
He credited the establishment, which he explicitly identified as the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munnir, for having played a key role in economic improvement through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
“In the past, when the establishment has not played a constructive role, the country plunged into crisis after the crisis,” he said, adding that, since the army was now actively contributing to development, criticism against it was useless.
Sanaullah underlined the need for unity to meet the challenges of Pakistan, in particular in law and order.
He warned that if the authority of the state in Balutchistan was not reinforced by the support of the public, the power would not fall into the hands of the nationalist forces, but those which “live on the summits of the mountains which shoot on the non-Aboriginals”.
