SAQIB wins cross -border praise at the Bitcoin Asia conference

Special assistant of the Prime Minister on Blockchain and Crypto (SAPM), Bilal Bin Saqib, represented Pakistan at the recent Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong, stressing how Pakistan is preparing a distinct global identity in the cryptocurrency space.

He stressed that regulations would be the key to the consumer adoption, regional and international experts recognizing its progress.

“Each country should have a basic regulatory regime through which it can contribute to exchanges, custody and stablecoins,” he said, describing such a framework as a “game changer” in global acceptance of bitcoin.

Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, created earlier this year, has already positioned the country as the first independent cryptographic regulatory body of South Asia – a development considered as essential for the digital finance sector.

Saqib, while addressing the public, described it as a historic moment for the country. “It is something very close to my heart. Today is considered a remarkable day, because Pakistan is considered not through a lens of fear but of possibility and innovation,” he said.

He noted that the approach to Pakistan could guide other emerging savings. “It is not only a new dawn for Pakistan, but for the whole world, where Pakistan can become a case study for emerging markets.

We can be useful for Morocco, Malaysia and all other emerging economies in the way they adopt the framework of digital assets, “he added.

SAQIB also published on his handle X, calling for the moment a turning point for the digital future of Pakistan. “Once misunderstood. Now unstoppable. BTC and Pakistan return the script.”

His leadership also attracted appreciation on the other side of the border. Indian crypto influencer Bitcoin Wala has rented his role, saying: “We also need leaders like Bilal Bin Saqib in India.”

With cryptocurrency and blockchain that is gaining ground, Pakistan is more and more recognized as a simple participant – it is positioned as a potential digital innovation model in the world.
