Jeddah:
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their commitment on Thursday to provide a bilateral partnership to new heights and strengthen defense and security cooperation, recognizing the importance of collaboration efforts to meet the challenges of regional security.
Bilateral links and cooperation were discussed at a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed Bin Salman.
The Prime Minister, who is visiting four days in the Kingdom, was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, senator Ishaq Dar, chief of the staff of the Syed Asim Munir army and the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz.
The meeting reaffirmed the solid and historical links between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with discussions focused on improving cooperation in the economic, commercial, investment, energy and defense sectors.
The two leaders expressed their satisfaction with the growing economic collaboration between the two nations.
The Prime Minister appreciated the kingdom’s commitment to increase investments in the key sectors, which would contribute to the economic growth and stability of Pakistan.
The two leaders had in -depth discussions on the evolution of the regional situation as well as on the geopolitical landscape and agreed to work closely at all levels to promote their common vision for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
The Saudi Crown Prince recognized the important contributions of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and agreed to improve the measures to facilitate their well-being.
The two leaders underlined the need to further strengthen people’s links to the person, cultural exchanges and educational collaboration.
The Prime Minister and the Crown Prince have reaffirmed their commitment to raising the Pakistani-Saudi partnership to new heights, guided by mutual respect, shared interests and a common vision of progress and prosperity.
Economic links with Pakistan
During a separate meeting, the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh, expressed the interest of the country to deepen economic ties with Pakistan.
Bilateral economic cooperation was discussed while Prime Minister Shehbaz met with Saudi investment minister Khalid Al Faleh and the joint operational force of economic engagement Mohammad Al Tuwaijri during the four -day visit.
Discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation, the attraction of Saudi investments and accelerating joint initiatives in the key sectors.
After having expressed the best wishes to the management of the kingdom, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitate Saudi investors, highlighting the country’s strategic position and policies adapted to investments.
He underlined the vast potential of Pakistan in energy, infrastructure, agriculture and technology, inviting Saudi companies to explore opportunities under SIFC.
Saudi investment minister Khalid Al Faleh, and the head of the working group Mohammad Al Tuwaijri expressed the strong interest of Saudi Arabia to deepen economic ties with Pakistan.
They discussed the improvement of institutional collaboration to accelerate investment projects and ensure their smooth implementation.
The meeting stressed the commitment of the two nations to promote a long -term and mutually beneficial economic relationship.
PM in Madina
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Thursday arrived in Madina Munawara on Thursday. Upon arrival in Madina Munawara, Governor Madina Prince Salman Bin Sultan Al-Saud received the Prime Minister at the airport.
He will pay tribute to Roza-E-Rasol of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) and will offer prayers and Nawafil to Masjid-E-Nabwi. He will offer special prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
